Day #165
Heart #146
My friend Diane wanted to see a kiwi-slice scissors fob, because kiwis are her favorite fruit. Here ya go, Diane! This is for you!
If anyone else has a suggestion for a fob, please leave it in a comment below. I have more than 200 hearts left in this challenge! Help!!
Another friend, Mareth (aka Lime Riot) wondered where I got the baker's twine I've been using in these fobs. Earlier this year I purchased this wonderful assortment from Talking Twine and Trim on Etsy. I didn't know what I would use it for, but I knew I wanted it. This is 10 yards each of 18 different colors. This is very nice, heavy-weight twine, and I highly recommend it!

Fancy Felt Heart
Day #74
Heart #85
I made one more pincushion heart to test the Fancy Felt I bought from Giant Dwarf on Etsy. It was suggested to me by Mareth at Lime Riot, who uses this wool and viscose blend felt in all her creations.
It feels just like 100% wool felt (not slippery or "plastic-y" like acrylic felt); it has a nice body and density, but is a little thinner than the wool felt I usually work with.
I like this product a lot and I'm hoping the lower wool content will discourage little buggies from eating it!

Bookmark Heart
This is a totally new use for a heart--a bookmark! Artfully Sew on Etsy was really thinking outside the box when she came up with this idea. I love the little tail of embroidery floss. These would make nice little gifts to include in a card or letter, or as an "extra" in a Craftster swap.

Colorful Heart
This heart is so pretty and colorful! And it looks exactly like the sort of thing I like to make! I love the raw-edge piecing of the batik fabrics. You can find this heart and more like it for sale at Music Teachah on Etsy. It's flat, not stuffed, and I will surely do something like this during my heart-a-day challenge. It would be great in red and pink for Valentine's day, on a garland.

If My Heart Had Wings
This is another heart with wings--this one has fabric wings, and comes to us from Poppy's Garden on Etsy. I think I will combine these fabric wings with the small hearts in a previous post (since I'm not a metal-worker!) for my heart challenge.
Isn't this one sweet?

Glass Hearts
Even though these hearts are glass, not fabric, I find them EXTREMELY interesting and inspiring; they make me want to try to imitate them in fabric. This picture is on Flickr, as part of the Creative Glass Guild on Etsy.
