Here's my second attempt at a bunting on a wool felt scissors fob hand sewn heart:
Kay, thank you for your encouraging comments yesterday; I agree that the shape of the string was the problem. I was trying to fit the bunting to the shape of the heart...and it just didn't work!

I knew what your first attempt was as soon as I saw it but I must admit that your second attempt does look better.
